Soaking Up Summer: My Lisbon Vacation Edit

While everyone seems to be talking about fall—pumpkin lattes, back-to-school schedules, and crisp weather wardrobes—I can’t stop thinking about soaking up every last minute of summer.

Right now, I’m in Lisbon, wandering sun-soaked cobblestone streets and fully embracing that beautiful, slower pace of August in Europe. The summer crowds have thinned, the light is golden, and every day feels like the perfect excuse to dress up, dip into the ocean, or grab a pastel de nata and linger on a terrace.

Before I left, I dreamed up a little vacation edit—a collection of pieces I knew I’d want with me. The kind of items that make packing feel exciting rather than overwhelming. Think color, texture, and that playful, beach-meets-city balance. I curated everything from bathing suits and dresses to the perfect backgammon clutch—yes, really—that makes dinner al fresco or spontaneous beach hangs that much more fun.

Here’s what made it into my suitcase:

The Summer Edit

1. Bathing Suits That Double as Bodysuits
Colorful, flattering, and versatile. I packed a few in opal-inspired hues and shell tones (of course), perfect for swimming or pairing with a sarong when heading to lunch straight from the beach.

2. Dresses That Do the Most
Mini dresses with cut-out backs, soft mesh knits, and beaded styles made the cut. They’re easy to throw on, but instantly make you feel polished and ready for a sunset dinner. I’m loving nautical influences, but with a twist—pink and white stripes instead of the expected navy.

3. Sarongs That Do Double Duty
When packing light, versatility is key. A sarong can be your beach towel, a makeshift dress, or even a picnic blanket when the moment calls for wine and fruit by the water.

4. Platform Sandals to Dress Up (or Down)
From morning coffee runs to evening strolls, a great pair of platforms gives you that little lift—literally and stylistically. They’ve dressed up more than one of my casual looks here in Lisbon.

5. Jelly, But Make It Grown-Up
We couldn’t resist the jelly trend, but wanted to keep it refined. So we went with subtle, colored jelly thong sandals—just enough fun to spark joy, but not so trendy they’ll feel dated next summer.

6. The Backgammon Clutch
One of my favorite items: a compact, playful clutch that opens up to a backgammon board. It’s perfect for beach days, dinner parties, or lazy afternoons with fruit, a towel, and good company. A little luxury with a side of fun.

7. The Bamboo Triple Jump Tote
This tote has become my summer go-to. It fits everything I need for the day—towel, book, SPF, snacks—and still looks elevated enough to take from beach to dinner without missing a beat.

Whether you’re still on vacation or dreaming up your next one, I hope this edit brings a bit of sunshine and inspiration to your summer days. Let’s make the most of what’s left—because there’s something magical about August, especially when you slow down and savor it.

Love from Lisb,

Codi xx
